Open letter

If you could have a guarantee that one, specific person was reading your blog, who would you want that person to be? Why? What do you want to say to them?

A WordPress editor who would select my wonderful, original and imaginative post and featured it on “Freshly Pressed”. This way my blog will flourish with a lot of new readers and followers and my self-esteem will boost.

Not. Seriously. It was my believing that the whole idea of blogging was “publishing.” That means a lot of potential readers. If I had one single person I love in mind, I would write him or her a personal letter, not thru a blog post that everybody can read.

That leaves us an unknown or not specially loved addressee. Maybe would be a good chance to publish an open letter to some world leader and blog reader. Are there any?

I would write a post reminding my addressee that the world is full of human beings with feelings and needs, not just numbers or money. Human beings who need freedom, dignity, peace, justice, food, jobs… Thinking only in terms of power, force, weapons, money and greed leads to injustices and wars.

But my open letter would be useless. They all know about that. But power structures are corrupted or damaged and from these peaks they don’t see life as we see it. They have other perspective and other interests. As they say in Spain, There is no worse blind than the one who doesn’t want to see. Nevertheless I’ll ask them to stop for a minute and take a look at the harsh reality thinking in terms of human beings.

Not very original and imaginative, but it is what the prompt inspired me.
